Hong Kong - Macau Trip Day 5

Day 5 is the last day of the trip. Why oh why happy time flies? We have planned to travel to Central for an experience of local dim sum on early Sunday morning. Headed to "Lin Heung Lau Tea House" at Wellington Street. It took us quite sometime to finally find the restaurant, as it was quite hidden along the steps and layers around the Wellington street area.  - Unique lanes around Wellington Street - Stepping into Lin Heung Lau made us felt very much stepping into "Old Hong Kong". The old-fashioned tea house with dim sum aroma simply completes our trip this time to Hong Kong. However, too be frank we did not really enjoyed this meal. There were too many people in this eateries and food were served slow. Everyone simply got to go after the dim sum cart right the moment it came out from the kitchen. So we only managed to grab a few dishes. The taste of the dim sum somehow was not really extraordinary to us. We actually prefer our local dim sum more. But th

Hong Kong - Macau Trip Day 4

Day 4 of our trip is purposely scheduled as a free and easy day. We planned to roam around Hong Kong towns to experience the local cultures here. So we woke up slightly later that day, recovering from the tiring Disneyland trip the day before. We walked out from hotel to a nearby porridge stall "Ocean Empire Food Shop" nearby the Wan Chai MTR station for late breakfast. Wilson ordered pork and century egg porridge and I ordered rice  roll with shrimp. Both are Hong Kong's must try and yeap, we tried. - The rice roll was not that good anyway.. ours are much better - We then hopped onto the MTR towards "Sham Shui Po" or they called it the wholesale fashion outlet streets according to the Lonely Planet travel booklet. But I was really disappointed as the clothing here was very much fit for the more mature ladies instead.  - Sham Shui Po, Fashion Outlets - We then walked towards Ap Liu Flea Market, supposed to be a flea market selling second hand e

Hong Kong - Macau Trip Day 3

Did I mention why we chose this particular week for the trip? It is actually to celebrate both my birthday and our 11th anniversary here. 26th of July is both my birthday and our courtship anniversary, the 11th this year. And it will be the last courtship anniversary before we move on to new chapter next year, marriage anniversary. Therefore we decided to have something special, hence, HK Disneyland here we come! So this day, 3rd day of the trip, we headed out for breakfast as early as 9am to yet another Cha Chan Teng with the name "Honolulu Cafe" at Hennessy Road . This was where Jacky Cheung and Tang Wei shot their movie "Crossing Hennessy". We actually did enjoy the simple breakfast very much. Luncheon meat mee, luncheon meat sandwich, toast with egg and Polo bun. Yum! I have to order most of the time as the menu is all written in cantonese which Wilson has no idea about. Even myself is just half literate on it :-) - Yummy breakfast, Hongkie style -

Hong Kong - Macau Trip Day 2

We woke up as early as 8am the 2nd day of our pre-honeymoon trip. Hoping the weather has mercy on us, and yeappie.. there was no rain that morning, but the sky was quite gloomy. Anyhow we washed up and headed out immediately in case the rain started pouring again. We made it half way towards Senado Square before it started pouring. What a dismay. Anyway, we saw a noodle shop named "Chong Tin" in front of the place we had shelter from the rain and went in for breakfast. It was indeed a very great choice.  - Nice beef noodle & shrimp wanton noodle & lovely tea -  As we finished our breakfast, we had a brief chat with the owner of the shop. She sarcastically mentioned with such heavy rain, we might need to have our dinner there too =.='' Well, we didn't of course! We braved out of the shop and walked towards Dom Pedro V Theatre located near the noodle shop. However it was closed for upgrading works. Met an old couple from Germany, chat a little bout

Hong Kong - Macau Trip Day 1

Weeee.... finally..... the long awaited vacation!!! We have planned a getaway since Air Asia had a big sale last year. Since Hong Kong is one of my all time must-go list, we chose to go HK + Macau to celebrate my birthday and also our 11th anniversary!  Upon arrival to Macau, I saw the sea water level was unusually high near the airport. As we walked towards the bus stand to board the bus to hotel, it started pouring. It rained so hard that we started to question, is it normal? We anyhow took the bus directed by the tourist information counter, towards a station called "Si Da Hao". Being half-literate in the chinese language, I could not identify which station to get down from the bus. We overshoot for at least 3 stations before Wilson asked the driver. So we ought to jump down from the bus and walk to the opposite station to get on another bus back to the right station. With the rain and heavy luggage to drag, it was not the best way to start our vacation.. any
