Singapore - Day 3

The 3rd day of my visit to Singapore kicks off with breakfast at the hotel again. Today I was scheduled to visit another hard disk manufacturer factory in Singapore, Showa Denko. I was suppose to visit the wastewater treatment plant with UNOX technology. This is an advance technology by the Japanese which is able to reduce the footprint of the treatment plant and increase the performance. But, how many investor would consider giving so much money into wastewater treatment plant like the Japanese?

The plant was really great, very systematic and well kept. After this, we went up the Jurong Hill for an Indonesian lunch. The scenery from the hill was quite nice, considering Singapore is a building forest. I could see the Industrial area well from the look out point.

The hill has another attraction other than the lookout point, the Garden of Fame. It contains many trees planted by famous people around the world, eg: Queen Elizabeth, King of Thailand etc.. But I couldn't search for Mahathir's plant, wonder why... and I wonder if these people do come back to Singapore to water their "plants"

From there we went back to the vendor's office and again they brief me in detail of the UNOX system. Actually the theory was simple and straight forward. After the briefing, I bid my vendors goodbye and thanked them for their treats and great hospitality over the last 2 days.

By then it was already pass 5pm, Georgina (vendor) sent me to Ah Lian's house. I was suppose to stay for a day there with Ah Lian. She brought me to China Town via MRT to meet Ah Beng and Yah Fang. Ah Beng ordered all the weird food from Singapore, as promised.

- Raddish Cake with prawn, rating: 3/5 -

- Fried egg with oyster, ratings: 2/5 -

- Tang Yuen with peanut soup, ratings: 4/5 -

- White coloured Hokkien mee, ratings: 2/5 -

- Laksa mee, ratings: 2/5 -

- Sweet Char Kuey Teow, ratings: 1/5 -

After the weird weird dinner treated by Ah Beng, we head off the walk around China Town for me to get some souvenirs. It was near Chinese New Year and the streets were packed, sardine packed with human. But it was a nice place though, very happening and the buildings are nicely kept. Although a little like our Petaling Street, but their Chinatown looks much better overall.

- Uni-mates: Ah Lian, me, Yah Fang -

- Uni-mate: Ah Beng -

After dinner, we headed off to the Merlion Park again by MRT. The night sceneries in Singapore was spectacular with Merlion statue, the Esplanade and the Singapore Flyer. We enjoyed the view and they took quite a number of photos for me. Now I felt like a tourist and they're Singaporean. Anyhow they did get the PR status already.

- Merlion & us -

- Esplanade & Singapore's night view -

We did catch up a lot, since we've not met after our convocation. Ah Beng and Ah Lian almost became a Singaporean by now, they love this lifestyle and I bet they'll stay there for a long time. Yah Fang whom just stepped into Singapore few months back was still unsure whether she loves the place or not. I personally don't enjoy working in Singapore, where pressure and speed are always a concern.

- Yah Fang's lil pressie for me! -

So then, we bidded Ah Beng and Yah Fang goodbye and headed back to Ah Lian's home in Ang Mo Kio. We got into bed very soon as it was a really hectic and fruitful day.

What am I?

It has been some time since I last updated this blog. Heaps of stuff happened and I just had the time to pull a break and evaluate the events that happened to me in the past 1 month. I've changed my job, moving into sales line is not an easy decision to make. I was doubtful with myself until I really come on board. Perhaps it may be too soon to tell where I stand in this job, but I was really thankful that my current boss gave me an insight of myself. We had sessions to understand what are our temperament. This is something that govern what kind of job that fits us. Apparently I am an "Artisan" after few rounds of personality tests. An artisan loves freedom, leads by taking action, seeks to have impact and variation, needs appreciation, a risk taker, problem solver and an opportunist. When I read the full description bout what I am, I immediately understand why I felt in constraint and bored working in the manufacturing line. I am just not that type of person that falls i...

New Haircut

A haircut for the new beginning :) My previous hairstyle was BOB, I took courage to cut it short last 2 years. So for the last 2 years I didn't visit saloon at all. Finally today I thought I have to cut off my out-of-shape hair, I have to trim it back into shape! Quite bored with layered hairstyle, so I tried the straight cut.. to make my hair look fuller and straight. Not bad, I quite like this hairstyle~ It's a preparation before I make digital perm later :P Long & Straight hair - Love it!

Flashbacks

- How it all started - I entered Victoria Institution, as a form 6 student. On the first day of school, we were divided into classes of FM 1 and FM 2. I was allocated in FM 2, and so did most of BBGS girls. We were contented with the arrangement, but not someone. He was from BBSP school, which I had never heard of. All other BBSP students were allocated in FM 1, with him as an alien in our class. I believe he was really angry with the arrangement. The class teacher promised him to swap, provided he top our FM2. Most of the time he won't be spending time in our class and preferred loitering around in the other class. We didn't really care much bout him and so did he. We didn't interact much, but in the class he was a gem to the teachers. Our chemistry teacher liked him so much that she told me, "that boy sitting at the edge of the class (referring to him) is a very good and clever boy ya?"I smirked :\ After many weeks, finally we had group...
