R.O.M Preparation Pt 1

Took a glance at the "daisy-path" time line at the right corner of this blog, my oh my.. in less than 2 months will be our big moment - Registration of Marriage! For the past 1.5 months we have been actively preparing for this big day. This big day where we pen down our love, commitment, promise, companionship, MARRIAGE... on paper.

1. Date - We secured the 22/06/2012 at the National Registration Department. We had our registration form pinned up on the board and NO one objected to our union.

2. Attire - I would love a nice white knee length dress for this event. So we searched up and down at Mid Valley, Pavilion and Uptown etc for the perfect dress. Finally, from some forum recommendation, I visited the "D'Glit.ters" boutique at Plaza Damas, Seri Hartamas and found it. It's a white laced knee length dress tube topped with a beige colour ribbon at the waist line. And to match this dress I need a pair of beige/white/ivory coloured heels. We again search up and down for the pair of heels and finally found it at the Bridal fair in Mid Valley. Bought it from a bridal boutique called "Memo.ries" and their shoes are REALLY comfortable to wear and it's with the matching ribbon to my dress! So here, my attire for the big day is all... ready!

As for my groom, he is all happy with his set of suit and pants tailor-made earlier so all he needs is a white shirt with proper cuffs. We will still be looking around for his white shirt, perhaps to Raoul or Robbinson.

3. Wedding Bands - We secured our wedding bands from the jewellery store "Dia.mond & Plati.num" that Wil bought my engagement ring. The moment we landed our eyes on this pair of wedding bands, we felt in love with it. The simplicity yet sophisticated and modern design. Just the kind of wedding bands I have in mind. We bought it at D&P's road show, so we have a few free gifts i.e. 2 pearl bracelets, 1 bridal bouquet voucher and small bottles of Burberry fragrance. We were also given free laser engraving services for our bands, we decided to engrave our names on it - Wil & Jes on his ring and Jes & Wil on my ring. It will take 12 days to get this done, as the rings will be sent back to factory for engraving.

4. Vanity - In order to look best on the big day, I've decided to hire a make up artist for my make up and hairdo. Some may say it's not necessary as the R.O.M process only takes about 15minutes. But well, I would use this phrase again "It's once a lifetime... might as well?" I chosen Wed.ding Is.le's Karen as my R.O.M day make up artist. It cost RM250 for her to be at my house at 6am on the day. Finger crossed it will be good, as seen from her previous works, the make over is somewhat simple and elegant, love it.

5. Photography - Since we are all dressed up and it is an utterly important event in our lives, we decided there's a need to hire a photographer to snap quality photographs of the event. I did frantically research all over the internet for a good photographer with reasonable price to shoot for our R.O.M event. Finally we made the choice to go with Yu.en Photo.graphy, whom the principal photographer is friend of our good friend.

6. After R.O.M lunch - We have not confirmed on this yet, as it is still a month to our R.O.M date. There are a few choices i.e. Pullman Resort at Putrajaya or some chinese restaurants nearby. This could be decided later, after we have headcount of attendance.

Phew.. so looks like we're all ready for our registration day! Am really excited for this day to come. Then, I would need to fill in "married" at the relationship status, being addressed as Mrs. Lai and calling Wilson.. hubby? hub? lou kung? oh gosh.. I AM anxious. I AM nervous. Not that I'm not ready for moving on to the new chapter of life, it's just that this will be a declaration of lifetime devotion and it should be a really HUGE moment. So.. ain't it all normal to feel anxious and nervous? Gosh, another 1.5 months to feel anxious about. But for now, it is a relief that almost all my preps are done, for the ROM.

Hi Kelsey,

Sorry for the late reply, I didn't realise there is a comment here.

My wedding is on 12/1/13 and dinner on 13/1/13. Few more months to go. Yes, I have the exact same crew for Aspial pre-wedding shots. Just 2 days ago we went for photo selection. We were really happy with the photos. Sure we did the right choice with them.

As for my ROM photoshoots, not bad. I made a photobook with those photo too. Just as token of remembrance and with good deals from Groupon lately :)

Enjoy your marriagehood ya, motherhood soon maybe? :D

W.O.T.P.

10th of November 2012, the day we booked our first property together as husband and wife. It was indeed a huge milestone after we signed our ROM papers. This is a luxury condominium developed by Selangor Dredging Berhad and it's located at Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Batu 9, Cheras Selatan. This is a very interesting development because it is situated on 8.9 acres of Freehold land with 4.2 acres of landscaped environment (Yes, half of the development is actually greenery!) The unit built-up range between 916 sq. ft. to 4,311 sq. ft. and sold for about RM450 - RM680 per square feet.  We bought a unit at Block C which is lowest block on the left. Location of W.O.T.P. with proposed MRT station few kilometers away.  The lovely greenery and facilities are really serene and awesome! Facilities: 50m lap pool Children’s wading pool Children outdoor play area Teen’s play area 2 nos. of indoor badminton courts Gym/ aerobic room Function hall by the pool (6 ban

What am I?

It has been some time since I last updated this blog. Heaps of stuff happened and I just had the time to pull a break and evaluate the events that happened to me in the past 1 month. I've changed my job, moving into sales line is not an easy decision to make. I was doubtful with myself until I really come on board. Perhaps it may be too soon to tell where I stand in this job, but I was really thankful that my current boss gave me an insight of myself. We had sessions to understand what are our temperament. This is something that govern what kind of job that fits us. Apparently I am an "Artisan" after few rounds of personality tests. An artisan loves freedom, leads by taking action, seeks to have impact and variation, needs appreciation, a risk taker, problem solver and an opportunist. When I read the full description bout what I am, I immediately understand why I felt in constraint and bored working in the manufacturing line. I am just not that type of person that falls i

Life

I'll be quarter a century old in a day. In a day's time my birthday would come, and most probably would just simply go. Didn't expect much this year, or maybe age has certain impact on me. I'll be 25 soon. This is so alarming scary, time just flew too fast. Everything changes. I looked like awfully nerdy 3 years ago when I was still in UPM. I've started working one year ago, this was the fastest one year in my life. Life has been so committed to work and work, I couldn't realise time flew across and here I am. Evaluating what I've done over the past 1 year. I've learnt many many things, both in life and in work. From an ordinary 2nd upper graduate to now a project engineer. Nothing big achieved but I felt contented, at least I'm working towards my goal. It's just kinda overwhelming to think back times, was so excited on the 1st day of kindy, was so nervous going into primary school compound, was so trilled to step into secondary school, was so c
