Day 8 is Friday! 26.09.08. TGIF! Since we've got our ticket for Prague on Thursday, we headed straight to shop for clothes after work. I have EURO120 to spent for clothing in Germany and had to finished it there. No choice but to go get some clothes. Too bad shops in Europe only open up to 8pm. We had merely 2 hours to shop. - Shopping street in Leipzig Town - I bought a sack bag (guni) like knitwear from C&A that cost EURO15. 1 thing about shopping in Europe. There are only few shops available and they are the same everywhere. C&A, P&C, Zara, Newyorker, H&M... So it's quite tough to get nice clothing compared to our shopping heaven in Malaysia. - Meeting place - Me, Shelly, Felix and Soon Hee were busy shopping till we forgotten bout our stomach. Everyone else went back to have dinner and we were left out to shop till the very last minute the shop closes. Then only to realize we have not eaten anything. From day 4 - day 7 (22.09.08-25.09.08) was working days. We went to Company Q everyday by shuttle bus that leaves at 7am sharp from our apartment. I'm really amazed with the automation in Company Q's production. Felt ever lucky to have taken this offer. (This is despite our beloved HR) So for the first week, we were still familiarizing with the new company's style of work. I had to learn everything fast because I only have 2 weeks here. And suppose to contribute in the factory's start up soon in Malaysia. Since it's not that good to display stuff of our company here, I show what are the food I had in their canteen. The 3rd day, a Sunday (21.09.08) was supposed to be a Sports Day held by Company Q. However the 4 girls pulled out and we had our shopping + yumchar session at the Hauptbanhoff. The guys went for soccer, volleyball and so on with the German colleagues from Company Q. I believe they enjoy the cheerleaders the most (haha). - haha - The Sunday went slow and steady, we enjoyed our tea very much. We felt like mistresses enjoying our teas! After the tea we went back to apartment to cook dinner. Almost everyday we had to cook to save up our per diem for weekend travels. On the second day, 20.09.08 (Saturday) we immediately set up for a trip to Berlin. Weekend train tickets bought in groups are much cheaper. Lucky me that all my colleagues are outgoing and sporting peeps who like traveling. We only forked out EURO7.40 (RM37) per person for a ticket to Berlin! Boarded the train at Hauptbanhoff around 6.58am, ok.. one note here: German trains/buses leave exactly at the scheduled time. Not earlier nor later few minutes, I salute their punctuality. - To Berlin!! On Train!! - The journey to Berlin took around 2hours. We napped and chat in the train so the time past really fast. Upon arrival to Berlin, we got help from a local to advice on route to tourist attractions. The Berlin Hauptbanhoff is very much bigger and modern than Leipzig's. I'm back from Germany. It was a great great trip.. I have so so many things to write about, but only managed to do it now. I was away for 15 days on a On-Job-Training to Leipzig, Germany for Company Q. Previously many people has commented that I was conned by some human trafficking company, but nope.. I'm now back in ONE piece and felt ever lucky to have that opportunity. - My new buddy: Shelly Tham (2 of the 4 girls from 2nd batch) - I departed from KLIA on 18.09.08, it was my first experience flying with Lufthansa. I wonder why I was so tired (okla, pig), I slept through the whole flight skipping one dinner offered on the flight. Our flight transit at Frankfurt Airport, we waited for 3 hours there. Frankfurt Airport is so big and so boring, didn't get to buy anything. So then we boarded a smaller plane to Leipzig.. 1 hour away from Frankfurt.
