Actual Day Preparation - MISC

1. Itinerary

I'm considered a very last minute person, me and Wilson both did not really bother on the itinerary of the actual day events until very last week prior to the event. As I drilled further on the details, I felt goosebumps all over my body. So many things could happen to hinder the event flow! And how much could we plan?

Finally I give the very last touch to this itinerary 3 days before actual day, distributed it to all the related person in charge, i.e. photographer, videographer and friends/family whom are helping out.

2. Wedding Dinner Entertainment

We discussed this over and over again, to hire or not hire wedding live band. We analysed from other friends' wedding dinners, the duration of singing from the live band isn't that long but their charges were sky high. Likely about RM3,000 for a 3 pc band for a 30-40 mins singing. And we realized some live band trying to perform like their concert in weddings and we do not like those. But..If we do not hire, the slot when we are having table to table toasting will be a little dull with only music aired from laptop. Anyway in the end we decided not to hire, and save up the expenses here.

So we compiled a whole folder of songs from different albums to air during the dinner. And I chose Jon Secada & Rebecca Holden's Dreams Come True as our march in song and Perry Como's Magic Moments as our second march in song.

To slot in entertainment during the dinner, I have produced a short montage of our love story inclusive of some childhood photos. It took me quite many months to complete this montage, as I drew a simple cartoon to represent us in the story. All worthwhile I believe.

3. Bridal Car Decoration/ Gown Fitting

The day before actual day, we stormed into the bridal shop in different cars as we will be going back to our own home afterwards. I was late that day, due to delay from my manicure appointment. Poor Wilson waited about 2 hours plus for me at the bridal house. Upon arrival, I had the gown fitting 1 last time before carrying them home for the big day. All fitted well, I did not grow fatter or thinner. Then Wilson took his suit and vest, matched with bow tie and tie. My make up artist, Xiao Yan chose 3 sets of jewelleries matching to my gowns. I loved them so much, they really glows!

Then we had our beloved car decorated into bridal car. Thumbs up to Aspial for the decoration, it's beautiful. Wilson bought a pair of piggies for the front bouquet decoration. It's perfect!

We then headed back our own house awaiting hair combing ceremony that very night. It was really breath taking!!

4. Vanity

That very day before actual day, I went on to do the manicure and pedicure to look perfect on my wedding day. I chose L'mour Nail Expert in Kuchai Lama again (they did for my ROM nails) and I'm very happy with their services. It costed me RM250 for the extension, gel manicure, nail art and the shinny decorative.

As for pedicure, I simply coloured my toe nails gold! To match with both my black and white wedding shoes. All ready for the big day!

Chinese Wedding Customs

We religiously followed the Chinese tradition for our wedding, quite many efforts were put in to fulfill the customs but nevertheless it made our wedding events more colourful and lovely. 1. Tai Chan (Wedding Initiation) The very first custom for a Chinese wedding is "Tai Chan" which means the Groom's family would make a visit to the Bride's family to initiate the intention for wedding, check on the compatibility of the couple and discuss on the "terms & conditions". But in modern days, this step is basically just a casual meet up between the 2 families to discuss on dinner details or any special customs arrangement for different dialect group etc. This is the case due to usually both families had already meet up during the R.O.M after lunch and they both should be well notified and acknowledged of the union. So Wilson's parents came along to my home for this, and we had a good discussion on especially the dinner part. We are organizing

What am I?

It has been some time since I last updated this blog. Heaps of stuff happened and I just had the time to pull a break and evaluate the events that happened to me in the past 1 month. I've changed my job, moving into sales line is not an easy decision to make. I was doubtful with myself until I really come on board. Perhaps it may be too soon to tell where I stand in this job, but I was really thankful that my current boss gave me an insight of myself. We had sessions to understand what are our temperament. This is something that govern what kind of job that fits us. Apparently I am an "Artisan" after few rounds of personality tests. An artisan loves freedom, leads by taking action, seeks to have impact and variation, needs appreciation, a risk taker, problem solver and an opportunist. When I read the full description bout what I am, I immediately understand why I felt in constraint and bored working in the manufacturing line. I am just not that type of person that falls i

W.O.T.P.

10th of November 2012, the day we booked our first property together as husband and wife. It was indeed a huge milestone after we signed our ROM papers. This is a luxury condominium developed by Selangor Dredging Berhad and it's located at Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Batu 9, Cheras Selatan. This is a very interesting development because it is situated on 8.9 acres of Freehold land with 4.2 acres of landscaped environment (Yes, half of the development is actually greenery!) The unit built-up range between 916 sq. ft. to 4,311 sq. ft. and sold for about RM450 - RM680 per square feet.  We bought a unit at Block C which is lowest block on the left. Location of W.O.T.P. with proposed MRT station few kilometers away.  The lovely greenery and facilities are really serene and awesome! Facilities: 50m lap pool Children’s wading pool Children outdoor play area Teen’s play area 2 nos. of indoor badminton courts Gym/ aerobic room Function hall by the pool (6 ban
