Thalassaemia Minor

Since I'm about to join a new company, I ought to do a pre-employment medical check up. I chose to do it at Heartscan International Medical Center in Bangsar. Did some common tests including Blood test, Urine Test, Visual & Hearing Test, Lung Function Test and ECG.

The medical report was out yesterday and the medic called to explain my report. Basically I'm fit to work but they discovered an almost absolute possibility of me having Thalassaemia Minor, an inherited blood disorder that affect the body's ability to create red blood cells, to be exact there is a lack of hemogoblin count in my blood. Hearing the sound of it made me worried I might die in 2 weeks. But according to the medic, this disease is a not life-threatening and usually does not have any symptoms or require any treatment. But I will have to make sure my husband is not another Thalassaemia Minor positive or there will be 25% (1 in 4) chance with each pregnancy of having a child with thalassaemia major. Thalassaemia Major is life threatening. I felt a sudden struck of fear in my heart, what? He mentioned that no supplement is required and basically nothing much can be done as this is a genetic diasease. So what if Wilson is another Thalassaemia Minor positive? Dare not think bout it first, but we know we have to do a full check up for all these influential diseases before we decide to settle down.

Other than this, they discovered that I don't have Hepatitis B antibody too. Guess I had to take the vaccination soon, since I love seafood and seriously don't want to get Hepatitis. Well, as said.. I have a healthy heart since I don't take much meat. Cholesterol level is very good. While doing the Lung Function test, I almost failed it! This proves my lung can store so little air, I have to do more exercises.

It's good to have check ups once a while, better still if it's sponsored by company. Haha, at least now I'm awared that my hemoglobin count is low (oxygen level is low). Now I know why I'm always out of breath and all dizzy in smoky places. Genetic disorder eh, I got it from my ma-ma.. I got it from my ma-ma...

W.O.T.P.

10th of November 2012, the day we booked our first property together as husband and wife. It was indeed a huge milestone after we signed our ROM papers. This is a luxury condominium developed by Selangor Dredging Berhad and it's located at Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Batu 9, Cheras Selatan. This is a very interesting development because it is situated on 8.9 acres of Freehold land with 4.2 acres of landscaped environment (Yes, half of the development is actually greenery!) The unit built-up range between 916 sq. ft. to 4,311 sq. ft. and sold for about RM450 - RM680 per square feet.  We bought a unit at Block C which is lowest block on the left. Location of W.O.T.P. with proposed MRT station few kilometers away.  The lovely greenery and facilities are really serene and awesome! Facilities: 50m lap pool Children’s wading pool Children outdoor play area Teen’s play area 2 nos. of indoor badminton courts Gym/ aerobi...

Flashbacks

- How it all started - I entered Victoria Institution, as a form 6 student. On the first day of school, we were divided into classes of FM 1 and FM 2. I was allocated in FM 2, and so did most of BBGS girls. We were contented with the arrangement, but not someone. He was from BBSP school, which I had never heard of. All other BBSP students were allocated in FM 1, with him as an alien in our class. I believe he was really angry with the arrangement. The class teacher promised him to swap, provided he top our FM2. Most of the time he won't be spending time in our class and preferred loitering around in the other class. We didn't really care much bout him and so did he. We didn't interact much, but in the class he was a gem to the teachers. Our chemistry teacher liked him so much that she told me, "that boy sitting at the edge of the class (referring to him) is a very good and clever boy ya?"I smirked :\ After many weeks, finally we had group...

What am I?

It has been some time since I last updated this blog. Heaps of stuff happened and I just had the time to pull a break and evaluate the events that happened to me in the past 1 month. I've changed my job, moving into sales line is not an easy decision to make. I was doubtful with myself until I really come on board. Perhaps it may be too soon to tell where I stand in this job, but I was really thankful that my current boss gave me an insight of myself. We had sessions to understand what are our temperament. This is something that govern what kind of job that fits us. Apparently I am an "Artisan" after few rounds of personality tests. An artisan loves freedom, leads by taking action, seeks to have impact and variation, needs appreciation, a risk taker, problem solver and an opportunist. When I read the full description bout what I am, I immediately understand why I felt in constraint and bored working in the manufacturing line. I am just not that type of person that falls i...
