Entering third and final trimester

Photo updates:
Me at 27 weeks - 3rd trimester!

Actually I'm not sure if I'm now in 3rd trimester, according to this website Pregnancy Length, upon entering Week 27 is at month 7th and also starting of 3rd trimester:

But some sources do say you're only entering 3rd trimester in the 28th week. Ah so confusing!

Gotta Pee. Like. Now.
Starting this week, I feel like my bladder can only hold so little water and I have to go pee every now and then. It become worse when my boy is actively squirming, kicking and I'm caught in a traffic jam or a long meeting with major client or even simply after lying down, reluctant to get up. Almost every night I have to wake up at least 1 time to clear the bladder. Oh, so this is how nature prep us mother-to-be for the sleepless nights when baby finally arrives?

Backache and sleeping issues
My baby bump is relatively bigger at this point of time, so it does give a very heavy burden to my back. Even before pregnancy I've always been haunted by backache. So I have pillows everywhere to support the back. 1 in the office, few on my bed and 1 in the study room. Due to backache, I find it difficult to lie on a good sleeping position. Well, I read that it's best to sleep sideway on the left side to improve blood circulation and reduce pressure of the heavy uterus on the vital organs. I tried, and with a pillow in between legs too, as told. But it can only last for a while and when I go into deeper sleep, the sleeping position all gone (hehe.. ) Then I would feel short of breath and jolted awake felt like almost chocked. Sigh. Then it's toilet time. Oh not to mention sometimes I do wake up to a set of full numbed wrists, Carpal Tunnel syndrome?

My kungfu boy - somersault and heavy kicks
Not sure bout this. Everytime I tell other experienced moms bout my active boy, they all said babies are really active in the womb at this stage. But I really do think this boy is extra active! My tummy will go left, right with his squirmy acts, his twist and turn and the odd positions he ended up with.  Especially moments before I felt asleep, already having short breath, with him squeezing through to fit into a place just below the rib cage, wow boy, mommy is really tired! And also his powerful kicks, will get me jolted awake and wonder if it's a dream or really him?I even caught his act (my moving tummy) in video (hehe..) and definitely will show him when he's older! But it's definitely very special moments between mom and baby, I do cherish and love this feeling very much.

Hitting 5x kg and escalated real fast
I've been gaining weight like nobody business since the start of 2nd trimester. From pre-pregnancy of 45kg to 55kg now. I did loose like 1-2kg in the 1st trimester due to morning sickness, but it quickly came back and double triple up. I've already gain the maximum kg that my gynae allow me to. I'm sure the next visit he is going to tease me again!

Shopping for baby officially started
To be frank we already bought the baby cot and playpen before hitting 3rd trimester. Simply grabbed it when there is warehouse sales and glad we did, cause I felt extremely tired to walk now. Sure wont be able to shop as much now. Started to look at baby list and research a lot on the web about them. Felt like a real amateur, and glad to have family, friends and colleagues around to enlighten me on these stuff, especially on what to buy and what not.

These are those that I identified to buy:
i) Baby Cot - mattress, bumper and bedding set, mosquito net, waterproof cotsheet
ii) Playpen - mattress, mosquito net
iii) Carseat
iv) Clothing - rompers, mittens, socks, hats, receiving blanket, napkin, baby detergent
v) Breastfeeding necessities - pump, nursing bra, storage bottle/bag, nipple cream, cooler bag, breastfeeding pillow, breast pad
vi) Feeding necessities - bottles, nipples, sterilizers, warmer, bottle rack
vii) Grooming - Bath tub, bath mat, shampoo, body shampoo, nail clipper, towel
viii) Misc - Diaper, baby wipes, cotton bud
ix) Stroller

So the year 2013 is coming to an end, 1 more day to say hi to 2014. And it also marked another 2 month ++ to us meeting with our little boy. I'm both terrified and excited, especially when a colleague mentioned "Hey Jessie, you'll be due in 10 weeks or so ya?" And I'm like, 10 weeks? oh, 37 weeks by right it's considered full term for baby and could deliver by then. Time pass really fast, I'm reminding myself to enjoy pregnancy as much as I could now.. I am, to be honest! Love the squirmy watermelon uterus and my bigger boobs (haha.. ) on shopping baby stuff and talking bout parenthood. :))

Chinese Wedding Customs

We religiously followed the Chinese tradition for our wedding, quite many efforts were put in to fulfill the customs but nevertheless it made our wedding events more colourful and lovely. 1. Tai Chan (Wedding Initiation) The very first custom for a Chinese wedding is "Tai Chan" which means the Groom's family would make a visit to the Bride's family to initiate the intention for wedding, check on the compatibility of the couple and discuss on the "terms & conditions". But in modern days, this step is basically just a casual meet up between the 2 families to discuss on dinner details or any special customs arrangement for different dialect group etc. This is the case due to usually both families had already meet up during the R.O.M after lunch and they both should be well notified and acknowledged of the union. So Wilson's parents came along to my home for this, and we had a good discussion on especially the dinner part. We are organizing

What am I?

It has been some time since I last updated this blog. Heaps of stuff happened and I just had the time to pull a break and evaluate the events that happened to me in the past 1 month. I've changed my job, moving into sales line is not an easy decision to make. I was doubtful with myself until I really come on board. Perhaps it may be too soon to tell where I stand in this job, but I was really thankful that my current boss gave me an insight of myself. We had sessions to understand what are our temperament. This is something that govern what kind of job that fits us. Apparently I am an "Artisan" after few rounds of personality tests. An artisan loves freedom, leads by taking action, seeks to have impact and variation, needs appreciation, a risk taker, problem solver and an opportunist. When I read the full description bout what I am, I immediately understand why I felt in constraint and bored working in the manufacturing line. I am just not that type of person that falls i

W.O.T.P.

10th of November 2012, the day we booked our first property together as husband and wife. It was indeed a huge milestone after we signed our ROM papers. This is a luxury condominium developed by Selangor Dredging Berhad and it's located at Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Batu 9, Cheras Selatan. This is a very interesting development because it is situated on 8.9 acres of Freehold land with 4.2 acres of landscaped environment (Yes, half of the development is actually greenery!) The unit built-up range between 916 sq. ft. to 4,311 sq. ft. and sold for about RM450 - RM680 per square feet.  We bought a unit at Block C which is lowest block on the left. Location of W.O.T.P. with proposed MRT station few kilometers away.  The lovely greenery and facilities are really serene and awesome!
