Braised Pork Rice (卤肉饭）

Last night I was browsing through some blogs to check out for interesting recipes.. it has been quite long since I last cooked for Wilson. So I decided to make something he really likes, yeap.. PORK! And I came across a simple recipe to cook the Braised Pork Rice a.k.a Ru Lou Fan!

I woke up at 8am to visit the wet market to buy cooking ingredient. The meat was quite costly, at RM8.50 for half a kg. Not sure if the market lady charged me more.. I also bought spices, green vege, eggs and rice wine before heading home.

It took me 1 hour to prepare and cook this dish. Quite simple dish and really glad Wilson loves it.


This is quite a balanced-diet dish, with meat, vege and egg. Just it maybe too fatty.. so it's not advisable to have these chunks of fat pork meat too often. I cooked, but personally didn't even try a piece of the pork. Never like the taste, but since Wilson loves it.. I'm dedicated to learn the dish anyhow. Glad it turned out alright. Maybe next time I shall try making Pork Chop..

Ru Lou Fan.. anyone? Sell this bowl for RM8, will people buy?

What am I?

It has been some time since I last updated this blog. Heaps of stuff happened and I just had the time to pull a break and evaluate the events that happened to me in the past 1 month. I've changed my job, moving into sales line is not an easy decision to make. I was doubtful with myself until I really come on board. Perhaps it may be too soon to tell where I stand in this job, but I was really thankful that my current boss gave me an insight of myself. We had sessions to understand what are our temperament. This is something that govern what kind of job that fits us. Apparently I am an "Artisan" after few rounds of personality tests. An artisan loves freedom, leads by taking action, seeks to have impact and variation, needs appreciation, a risk taker, problem solver and an opportunist. Gatherings

I just had 2 gatherings recently. 1 with my high school aka childhood buddies and another with my university buddies. Really appreciate this little time we spent together, just to maintain our friendship. We were once really really close friends and really hope our friendships will last as long as it gets. Last 2 weeks, 22nd June 2008. Me, Sue and Voon had a small gathering to celebrate Sue's 25th birthday at Red Box Plus in Pavilion. Pavilion used to be our school!!
